TPO Uganda Latest Jobs: Recruitment for Business Development Advisor, Project Coordinator, Data Manager (NGO)

THE ORGANIZATION:

TPO Uganda is a local national NGO that has been operating in Uganda for over 17 years now. Our projects target the most vulnerable communities delivering the following critical interventions; Child Protection (Orphans and vulnerable children), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Eco systems, Food Security and Livelihood Support, Peaceful Co-existence, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support and HIV/AIDS Prevention. 

TPO is currently running projects in the districts of Isingingro, Bushenyi, Gulu, Kitgum, Nwoya, Amuru, Lira, Pader, Katakwi, West Nile region and Karamoja and is looking to recruit for the following positions;

POST TITLE:   Business Development Advisor


DUTY STATION: Gulu with frequent travel to Kitgum, Pader and Lira

REPORTING TO:  Project Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: 
  • The Business Development Advisor will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the socioeconomic and livelihoods support interventions in the selected sub-counties in the project districts of Gulu, Kitgum, Pader and Lira,
  • He/she is expected to work in the field, interact and mobilize groups to assist them come up with self-driven social action plans,
  • He/she is also expected to setup mechanisms for networking with existing initiatives at national, district and sub-county levels to assist groups to access additional technical and material assistance,
  • He/she will be expected to build capacities of groups formed and support them in the areas of group dynamics, village savings and loans schemes, book keeping and regular support supervision to monitor the performance of the households etc.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:
  • The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in agri-business, livelihoods projects, microcredit schemes etc. and a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Economics, Micro-finance, Social work and Social Administration or Development Studies,
  • Proven experience in participatory approaches of working with groups in rural settings,
  • Working knowledge of Luo and Acholi language and ability and willingness to ride a motorcycle are of added advantage.

POST TITLE:   Project Coordinator

REPORTING TO: Program Manager

DUTY STATION: Amudat, Karamoja.

JOB SUMMARY:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall technical leadership to the TPO project in Amudat including managing all aspects of project implementation, support supervision and liaison with district local governments,
  • You will be responsible for managing staff and taking overall responsibility for the day to day project operations and work planning.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • You should also possess a Degree in Social Work or a related field of study, with demonstrable experience in child protection, psychosocial support and/or gender based violence,
  • Familiarity with community participatory methodologies and ability to mobilize and engage with formal and informal traditional structures,
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision in a remote environment,
  • Leadership, people management skills, team building and innovativeness,
  • Program development and resource mobilization skills,
  • You should have worked at least a minimum of 3 years’ in a project mid-level management position,

POST TITLE:   Data Manager

REPORTING TO: Project Coordinator

DUTY STATION: Mbarara

JOB SUMMARY: 
  • The Data Manager is responsible for managing all the project data and strategic information needs of the project,
  • He/She will establish procedures, systems and processes for collecting and managing project related data in the TPO service districts,
  • He/She will frequently consult with the Strategic Information and M&E Advisor to ensure that all project data collected feeds into the Project Monitoring Plan in an integrated manner,
  • He/She will ensure that data and related information is collected, processed and reported on in a timely manner and will also participate in project related operational research.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field of study,
  • Applicants with a Social Work oriented degree BUT with professional qualifications and experience in data management systems will also be considered,
  • Knowledge and 3 years’ experience with OVC M&E data,
  • Familiarity with the national OVC MIS, quality standards and other tools,
  • Ability to manage a complex integrated M&E system,
  • Data analysis using SPSS/EPI Info and other statistical software.
SALARY/REMUNERATION:  USD/month.
